A prototype device created in the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab. Co-produced by myself, Angella Mackey, Deiren Masterson and Jeff Wright, with special thanks to Howard Suissa for producing the beautiful wooden case.

Gaku is a one-to-one communication tool that provides a meaningful space to share photos, video, and audio with loved ones across distances, specifically between grandparents and their grandchildren. Gaku is housed in an attractive wooden frame and has an easy-to-use interface that prioritizes the relationship over the technology with consistent, archived communication.
